Firearms Information

All firearms permits for the Borough of Deal, Borough of Interlaken, and Village of Loch Arbour are handled by the Deal Police Department Detective Bureau. In order to be eligible, all applicants must satisfy the eligibility requirements and comply with all statues and provisions that govern firearms as is set forth by the State of New Jersey (N.J.S.A. Title 13, Chapter 54).

NOTE: The falsification of information on any of the applications for firearms permits is a violation of N.J.S. 2C:39-10C and is crime of the third degree. Any falsification may result in criminal charges against you.

Obtaining a Firearms ID Card or Pistol Purchase Permit:
Applicants shall complete the S.T.S 033 (New Jersey State Firearms Form) utilizing the NJSP Firearms Application and Registration System (FARS) available at

You will need to provide the appropriate nine-digit Originating Agency Identifier (ORI): NJ0131000.

Upon completion, save a printed copy of your FARS application that include confirmation numbers, and or IdentoGO fingerprint appointment form (if applicable). This will be asked for by the agency at a later time.

In accordance with N.J.A.C. 13:54 applicants MUST submit payment for the FID cards ($5.00) and/or Pistol Purchase Permits ($2.00) at the time of the application. Note: Your application WILL NOT be processed until you have paid the appropriate fee(s). Payments must be made in the form of check or money order made payable to The Borough of Deal.
